Business Loop 70 closure to affect Columbia bus route

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The closure of a portion of Business Loop 70 in Columbia later this week will affect one of the city’s bus routes, a Monday press release says.

The city announced last week that traffic will be closed between Edison Street and Bowling Street. Monday’s release says the closure will take place from 6 a.m. Wednesday through 5 p.m. Thursday, weather permitting. Crews are removing out-of-service railroad tracks, according to last week’s release.

The city said on Monday that the Go COMO Orange Route bus will not be able to access the bus stop at 1509 Ashley Street. A temporary stop will be located at the corner of Lakeview Avenue and Stone Street.

“For the detour, the orange route bus will travel east on Business Loop 70 East, turn left on Edison Street, turn left on Lakeview Avenue, turn left on Fay Street and finally turn right onto the Business Loop, where it will return to its normal route,” the release says.
