QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you agree with the Columbia City Council’s mask decision?
The Columbia City Council voted down a new mask ordinance Monday night amid a continued surge in coronavirus cases powered by the delta variant.
The council voted 3-3 to reject an ordinance requiring everyone older than 5 to wear masks indoors and outdoors where social distancing isn't possible. The city's last health order requiring masks expired in early May.
The vote comes as Columbia Public Schools and colleges including the University of Missouri prepare to start fall classes.
