COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department celebrated the opening of a new policing center and precinct Wednesday afternoon.

The Molly Thomas-Bowden Neighborhood Policing Center in north Columbia includes community meeting space in addition to serving as a northern precinct for CPD, according to a news release. The nearly $10 million project is being paid for with voter-approved capital improvement sales tax revenue.
