CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. - KMIZ

Two men from California were arrested over the weekend after troopers allegedly found 44 pounds of marijuana in their vehicle.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, troopers arrested Braden C. Crawford, 37, of Citrus Heights, California, and Thomas A. Weatherwax, 30, of Sacramento, California around 10:30 Saturday night.

A location where the arrests happened wasn't provided.

The men were driving around 44 pounds of marijuana from California to Kentucky, said Sgt. Scott White with MSHP.

Troopers said the prescription medication hydrocodone was also found during their investigation.

Crawford and Weatherwax face possible charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

At last check, the Callaway County Prosecutor's Office had not filed charges against the men.
