MU Health Care breaks ground on new facility in Boonville

BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

MU Health Care broke ground Friday on a multi-specialty clinic in Boonville.

The clinic will improve access to medical care in Cooper County.

The clinic will feature an urgent care with extended hours, primary care providers and physical therapy services, among other things.

The Pinnacle Regional Hospital closed in February 2020. Shortly after, MU Health Care joined Boonville and Cooper County leaders to find healthcare options for the community.

"When we heard about this option, this challenge that was facing Boonville with Pinnacle Health System, Pinnacle Hospital closing, we said we're all in. We're going to provide care, we're going to provide some of the best care as possible right here in cooper county and the symbolism it's happening as we speak. We are committed to proving that care as much as possible right here in the rural communities Fulton, Ashland and now Boonville," said Jonathan Curtright, MU Health Care CEO.

The new clinic is expected to open in summer 2022.
