Tiger baseball drops Show-Me showdown to Lindenwood

KMIZ

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou baseball split its pair of mid-week contests, falling to Lindenwood 10-4 in an in-state match up.

The Tigers started the day off strong, managing to load the bases in the top of the first with just one out for Cam Bensen. The left fielder hit a single to shallow right and brought in the first two runs of the day.

Lindenwood managed to respond in a hurry, tying the game in the second, and pulling out to a one run lead in the third. The scoring streak didn't stop there, as the Lions stretched their advantage even more over the following innings to lead by as much as seven.

Despite giving up nine unanswered runs, Mizzou managed to claw back and bring a pair of runs across in the eighth, but it wasn't enough as the home side added another for good measure in the ninth, and pulling out a 10-4 win.

Up Next - Mizzou returns to Taylor stadium to host Texas A&M. Game one of the weekend series is set to get underway at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 27.
