A Saturday afternoon car crash injured two children ages 8 and 12.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the children were riding with 33-year-old Emma McAdams around 1 p.m. going east on Highway 63 near Route A.

As McAdams tried to cross over Highway 63, she pulled into the path of 31-year-old James Leech who was driving a 2011 Dodge Journey. That's when Leech allegedly struck McAdams' 2017 Ford Escape.

The 8-year-old who cannot be named because of age, was seriously injured. The 12-year-old suffered moderate injuries.

Boone County EMS took both children to University Hospital.

All involved in the crash were wearing their seat belts.
