FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A fire in Fulton caused major damage to a residential building and melted some nearby property.

Fulton Fire and Police were called to 206 North East Eighth Street last night after reports of a residential structure fire.

Fulton Fire said once they arrived on scene, they observed heavy flames coming from the single story structure.

No one was in the building at the time, and crews on the scene say that no one was injured.

In a press release, Fulton Fire said surrounding buildings and vehicles also had thermal damages due to extreme radiant heat.

To fight the fire, crews deployed large diameter attack hoses and a master stream devices for fire attack and exposure control.

The extent of the fire was so severe, that investigators were unable to determine the area of origin, or cause of the fire.

Missouri State Fire Marshals were on scene to aid with the investigation, which has been ruled undetermined and will remain open.

No damage estimates were made available at this time.

Callaway County Ambulance District was also on scene for firefighter rehab operations.
