SUNDAY UPDATES: Moniteau County reports fifth COVID-related death

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 10:30 P.M.: The Moniteau County Health Center reported its fifth COVID-related death on Saturday.

The center said the individual was in their sixties.

It is reminding people to keep an eye out for symptoms.

UPDATE 6:30 P.M.: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported on Sunday there had been 4,629 cases of COVID-19 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.

There were 40 new cases reported on Sunday.

Out of the total number of cases 355 were active.

The five day average of cases dropped to 52.

ORIGINAL: The Department of Health and Senior Services reported a total of 123,406 COVID-19 cases in the state on Sunday.

The department reported 1,392 new cases on Sunday.

The department did not report any new deaths on Sunday. The death toll remains at 2,063.

As of Sunday, 1,298,106 people had been tested for the virus. Out of all of those tests 9.1% of people tested positive.

On Sunday 1,125 people were hospitalized with the virus in Missouri.
