Three police officers injured in downtown crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Three officers were involved in a crash in downtown Columbia on Tuesday night.

According to online dispatch records, crews responded to a crash in the 500 block of Walnut Street around 8:05 p.m.

A police department spokesperson said all three officers suffered minor injuries.

The crash happened while the officers were trying to respond to a shooting at Douglass Park.

Police said that one patrol vehicle was traveling west on Walnut Street and another was traveling north on Sixth Street when the crash happened.

Both patrol vehicles were damaged but there was no other property damage, police said.

ABC 17 News saw about a dozen officers at the scene. The Columbia Fire Department and ambulance also responded to the scene.
