SATURDAY UPDATES: Morgan, Moniteau County report new active cases of COVID-19

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 7:05 P.M.: The Moniteau County Health Center reported two new COVID-19 cases Saturday.

There are now 39 active cases in the county.

There have been 166 cases reported there.

UPDATE 7:01 P.M.: The Morgan County Health Center reported new cases of COVID on Saturday.

The center reported two new active cases, bringing the total up to 18.

There have been 79 cases reported in the county.

ORIGINAL: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported 53 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

This is the second highest number of new daily cases, falling behind 59 new cases reported on Aug. 1.

The health department reported 27 cases of the virus on Friday.

There have been 1,398 cases of the virus reported in Boone County.

Out of those, 237 were active on Saturday.
