Dance floor collapses with people on it at Shady Gators

On Monday ABC 17 News confirmed with a Lake of the Ozarks restaurant and bar night their dance floor dropped in the middle of a concert over the weekend. Fire officials said the stage fell about one foot late Saturday night.

A member of the band performing at Shady Gators this weekend sent ABC 17 News a video of the floor collapsing with dozens of people jumping on it.

An employee at Shady Gators said the dance floor has been repaired, and that will be up and ready for use again by Tuesday.

The area was immediately cleared, but Lake Ozarks fire said they were not called about the incident that night. It later sent inspectors to look at the stage Monday after learning about the issue. They are now working to find out whether the structure has to be replaced or needs further repairs.

The employee told ABC 17 News there was security on scene.

No major injuries were reported.
