Moberly man arrested for child pornography
A 19-year-old man from Moberly as been arrested for promoting child pornography on Tuesday.
Investigators executed a search warrant at Joseph Allen Schmitt’s house on the 1300 block of Henry Street in Moberly. Child pornography and computer equipment used to commit the crime was found.
The Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office formally charged Schmitt with first offense possession of child pornography, first degree child molestation and statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy – deviate sexual intercourse – with a person less than 12 years old.
Schmitt has a $500,000 cash only bond, and the investigation is still ongoing.
