Well Above-Average Temperatures Thursday Afternoon

TODAY: Skies look to be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy today. There is a small isolated shower/t-storm chance north of I-70 this afternoon. Newest data is keeping most locations dry and holding off any rain today. Temperatures this afternoon will be nearly 15 degrees above average, as the normal high is 65 degrees. It will be a warm afternoon with a southwesterly wind under 10 mph with temperatures warming to the upper 70s to near 80.

TONIGHT: It will be very mild overnight with lows near 60. It looks to be dry with winds from the south under 6 mph.

EXTENDED: We will also have a chance of showers and t-storms Friday but they will be spotty through Friday afternoon. Rain amounts will range from .10″ to .40″ with highest amounts north. No severe weather is expected through Friday. Rain looks to arrive near HWY 65 by 9AM-11AM and move into Columbia 12PM-2PM, with the rain chance coming to an end by evening for those east of US 63 by 6PM. Saturday looks warm and breezy with partly cloudy skies and southwesterly winds gusting to 25 mph at times. There is a slight storm chance early Saturday morning mainly north of I-70 but most of the day looks dry. Our better chance of storms moves in Saturday night after 7PM as a cold front moves in from the north. Scattered showers and storms are possible through Sunday morning with rain chances decreasing into the afternoon as the rain chance moves south with the front. There is a Marginal Risk for severe weather on Saturday night for damaging wind and large hail. High temperatures will reach into the low 70s Sunday. Next week is looking unsettled with rain chances each day next week where rain amounts from now until next Wednesday will range from 1″ to 3″.
