Tracking dry and warm air before slight rain chances this weekend

TODAY: Thursday is partly cloudy as clouds drift in from a stalling cold front to our north. Thursday remains dry and warm because of this, with highs reaching near 80.

TONIGHT: Clouds increase overnight, and some showers become possible by sunrise on Friday, especially north of I-70.

EXTENDED: Friday starts warm, with a chance for showers and limited lightning. Temperatures climb into the upper 70s again Friday afternoon. Most of Friday appears dry, but light showers are forecast to return at some point overnight into Saturday. Saturday will likely bring rain chances through the day, but it likely won't rain all day. Rain may be intermittent and light, with chances increasing slightly into the evening. Don't cancel your Halloween plans, but consider how rain could impact your plans. Showers are favored, and thunderstorms are not expected. Rain chances linger into Sunday, before better rain chances return Monday.
