Man seriously hurt in Phelps County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 34-year-old Newburg man was flown to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Phelps County just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the man was driving a 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on County Road 3060, east of Highway V, when he crossed the center of the road and hit a 2022 Ford Escape heading west, driven by a 23-year-old Rolla woman.

The man was flown to University Hospital by Phelps Air with serious injuries. The woman had minor injuries and was taken by a personal vehicle to Phelps Health.

The report states the man was wearing a helmet and the woman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Both the motorcycle and Ford were totaled.
