Missing Eldon teen dies after being found at bottom of pool

A missing Eldon teenager is dead after he was found at the bottom of a neighbor's swimming pool Friday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol drowning report, troopers responded to Rocky Mount after a 911 caller reported a 14-year-old missing. The search ended in the 6900 block of Frazier Oaks Road in Eldon.

According to the press release, The Miller County Coroner’s Office said emergency crews responded after the teenager was reported missing on Aug. 14.

The report says an "alarm call" was received at the residence where the juvenile was found. During the response, crews found the boy in a swimming pool at a nearby residence. He was taken to Lake Regional Health System, where he was pronounced dead during the early morning hours of Aug.15.

The coroner’s office is investigating the death with the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said there are no indications of suspicious circumstances surrounding the death at this time.

Several agencies assisted in the response, including the Rocky Mount Fire Protection District, Miller County Ambulance District and MU-2 in Osage Beach.

The teenager’s family has been notified.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing. The coroner’s office said no additional information will be released at this time.
