Tracking more rain and flooding risk ahead of a hot and humid stretch midweek

TODAY: Monday is a Weather Alert Day as a flood threat remains. Showers and storms remain possible through the morning and into the afternoon. A flood watch remains in place through the early afternoon, as slow-moving thunderstorms will be able to produce flooding after heavy rains on Sunday. High temperatures are expected in the low 80s but will feel like near 90° this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Some showers may remain into the evening, but generally drier weather is expected.

EXTENDED: Tuesday starts with a chance for thunderstorms, especially south of I-70 and west of Hwy 63. Tuesday will be hot, with heat indexes possibly reaching the low 100s. Drier weather looks likely during the midday and afternoon. Sunny skies and heat are forecast on Wednesday, when it feels like near 100° again. More widespread rain returns on Thursday and Friday to cool us slightly. Rain chances continue into the weekend.
