Law enforcement detains man in Holts Summit with Wisconsin warrant

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A police helicopter was enlisted for the search for an out-of-state fugitive in Holts Summit on Tuesday.
The Holts Summit Police Department asked the public to avoid the 900 block of Halifax Road while officers search for someone with an out-of-state warrant, according to a Tuesday afternoon press release from the department.
Curtis Hall, from the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed to ABC 17 News that Donavan DuCane was detained by law enforcement. Hall said DuCane was wanted out of Wisconsin for an alleged parole violation for a sex offender registry offense. He was brought to the Callaway County Jail, but a mugshot was not immediately available.
Sgt. Kyle Green with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the search started at about 3 p.m. Six Callaway County deputies were at the scene, including some with SWAT training.
Police said in the release that the search has resulted in a “heavy law enforcement presence in the area.”
Motorists should expect traffic disruptions and are encouraged to seek alternate routes. Multiple law enforcement agencies have responded to the call.
