Four arrests made in multiple sex crime cases, Holts Summit Police say
HOLTS SUMMIT, Mo. (KMIZ)
Four people were arrested for allegedly committing various sex crimes in Holts Summit, according to a Sunday release from the city.
According to the release, the arrests were made in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, including out of state agencies.
The release states the department has been following up on investigations and leads since 2023 related to a man out of the state of Kentucky who was sending exploited photographs to a juvenile.
Through various resources and assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies a detective was able to locate where the man was in Kentucky.
An arrest warrant was issued for the man. A charge was also filed for sexual misconduct involving a child under 15. The detective was able to work with the Butler County Sheriff's Office in Kentucky to arrest the person.
He was extradited back to Callaway County where he awaits a criminal trial, the release says.
Suspects in two other sexual assault cases were also taken into custody through collaboration with the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, Mexico Department of Public Safety, and the Cole County Sheriff’s Office.
A request for charges of first-degree sodomy, second-degree statutory rape and second-degree statutory sodomy have been requested, according to the release.
An individual was also apprehended for an alleged probation violation for an original charge of possession of child pornography, the release states.
The names of the individuals are not stated in the release.
