Construction will soon begin on a resort and entertainment district at the Lake of the Ozarks after the Osage Beach Board of Aldermen approved the development plans at its meeting Thursday.

According to a press release from SkyView Partners – who is involved with the project, along with Tegethoff Development and Big Thunder Marine owner Fred Ross – the construction will begin “immediately,” although they did not give a specific date or time.

“With the development plan approved by the City of Osage Beach, we are extremely pleased to begin construction of Oasis at Lakeport, which will offer year-round attractions and entertainment for everyone at the lake to enjoy,” Todd Schneider, co-managing partner of SkyView Partners, said in the release.

Oasis at Lakeport will be a $300 million family resort and entertainment district to be developed along the Lakeport property acquired by Big Thunder Marine in 2021 -- at Highway 54 and Jeffries Road, adjacent to the Grand Glaize Bridge.

It is expected to open in 2024.

Plans for the area include amusement rides and attractions, hotels, restaurants, an amphitheater, marina and boardwalk. Amusement offerings will include roller coasters, thrill and family rides and a 200-foot-tall observation wheel.
