Tracking a cool Thursday with storms and heat returning Friday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and comfortable with lows in the mid-60s.

TOMORROW: Partly sunny and comfortable with highs in the mid-upper 80s.

EXTENDED: We'll see lows in the mid-60s by morning, leading into a really nice Thursday. Highs tomorrow will reach near our seasonal average in the upper 80s with a few clouds. We could see a few showers tomorrow night ahead of a warm front that will slowly lift through the region on Friday. We'll start out with some rain and a few storms on Friday morning, but will have a window of dry time in the afternoon that will allow warmer temperatures to set in as highs get to near 90. An approaching cold front will bring a chance for storms on Friday night and Saturday as it stalls across the state, and some of those could be on the stronger side, especially Friday night. Saturday's risk for severe storms looks lower as there's less wind shear to work with, but it will still be hot and humid with a high near 90. Once the cold front finally passes south, we'll be cooler on Sunday and Monday before high pressure slides in just to our south. That will send temperatures back above average for much of next week with the main storm track just to our north.
