Heat and humidity linger through next week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and humid with lows in the mid-70s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny, breezy, and hot with highs in the mid-90s. Heat indices between 99-101.

EXTENDED: Heat and humidity will be the rule throughout the week as upper high pressure situates just to our east, allowing upper winds to pull in warmer and more humid air directly from the south right over the Gulf of Mexico. Heat indices will be highest early in the week with that moisture source, with feels like temperatures between 99-101 Monday and Tuesday. Chances of rain will be limited with the ridge overhead, but we could see a few disturbances in the vicinity that allow isolated storms on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then a more organized system potentially by Saturday night into Sunday that would bring a front through the area. From there, the pattern could be a little more active to close out the last week of the month.
