Tracking a cool start to the week followed by late week heat

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with areas of patchy fog. Lows in the mid-upper 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and comfortable with low humidity and highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: After a wet Saturday night, we have cleared out completely across Mid-Missouri with northwest upper flow continuing into the first part of next week. That will allow temperatures to remain a few degrees below average with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s through Tuesday. Monday night will be the coolest of the week with morning lows in the mid-50s. By mid-late week, the jet stream will begin to pump in more southerly winds, pushing temperatures back into the upper 80s. Upper high pressure sets in to the southwest, leaving us on the northern fringe by Thursday and Friday. We could see a stalled front bring a few storms to the north by Thursday night into Friday, but the bigger story will be the heat as highs reach the 90s on Thursday and stay there through next weekend.
