Tracking a cooler Thursday, few showers Friday morning

TONIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the upper 20s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny early, increasing clouds by late afternoon. Highs in the mid-upper 40s.

EXTENDED: We'll remain mainly clear overnight with temperatures landing near where we ended up this morning in the upper 20s to around 30. Tomorrow is a touch cooler with west/northwesterly winds dropping us into the upper 40s, and clouds rolling in toward late afternoon. A warm front sweeps across the area overnight, keeping us above freezing but bringing a few rain showers by early Friday morning. Temperatures rise to the low 50s early on Friday before a fast moving cold front replaces the warmth with a cooldown into the teens by Saturday morning. We'll only make the upper 20s to around 30 on Saturday so it will be a shock to the system after several nice days this week. We're dry for the weekend though, and we get back into the lower 40s on Sunday. Next week starts off warm and breezy as the upper level flow switches more southwesterly, sending us into the 50s on Tuesday and Wednesday. A strong system is expected to move across the Plains mid-week, potentially bringing us some steady, measurable rainfall Wednesday into Thursday. We'll keep an eye on temperatures as some of the precipitation Thursday morning could end as a light snow/mix, but right now minimal impacts are expected.
