Tracking a short lived warm up, and a return to arctic cold

TONIGHT

After a cold front passes today, temperatures will begin to tumble quickly this evening. Temperatures will drop into the teens overnight as the mild air is pushed away.

TUESDAY

Dry and cold air continue to filter in Tuesday, keeping highs in the 20's through the afternoon. Arctic high pressure settles overhead, pooling the coldest air into the region by Tuesday night. Temperatures are expected to drop into the single digits by early Wednesday.

EXTENDED

We’re back in the 40s Thursday before another front delivers a glancing blow. That will drop highs into the 30s Friday before we’re back in the 40s this weekend. A slim chance for precipitation, including the chance for snow, shows up Thursday. There's still uncertainty around this chance, but we'll be tracking it closely as we approach the end of the week.
