Tracking some thawing temperatures this afternoon

MONDAY

After another frigid start this morning, we’re starting to move in the right direction this afternoon. Plenty of sunshine and winds turning more southerly will bump temperatures into the upper 30’s today.

TONIGHT

We’ll be left with those mostly clear skies overnight but it won’t be nearly as cold as it’s been the past few nights. Lows will settle down in the middle 20’s.

EXTENDED

With a warmer start to the day on Tuesday, we’ll be able to do something with it. Highs will reach the upper 40’s, but unfortunately, that will be the warmest we get this week. Another cold front will surge south Tuesday night, delivering some more of that Arctic air for the rest of the week. Temperatures will likely not move much Wednesday, topping out in the upper 20’s. We fall into the teens Wednesday night, where we’ll stay during the day on Thursday. Thursday night looks like the coldest this week, with some more single digits in sight. The cold air will be in place and a weak disturbance will roll through it Wednesday night. That could bring us some light snow but there remain questions about that this morning. We’re in the 20’s on Friday, jumping into the 40’s this weekend.
