Tracking a mild end to the week, few showers Friday
TONIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the lower 40s.
TOMORROW: Windy with more clouds early in the day. Showers possible by mid-late afternoon and a couple thunderstorms for areas east of Highway 63 after sunset. Highs in the upper 60s, falling to near freezing Friday night.
EXTENDED: There could be a couple of clouds overnight, but temperatures stay much warmer than average in the lower 40s. Winds pick up quite a bit Friday ahead of the cold front, sending our temperatures into the upper 60s to around 70. Showers start to filter in ahead of the front early in the afternoon, but the better environment for severe weather will be to our southeast where the ingredients will be lining up after sunset. We could have a few thunderstorms in our far eastern counties east of Highway 63 after 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. but if we do see anything develop, it will exit quickly as the storm mode will favor fast-movers. Chilly temperatures and gusty winds stick around into Friday night and Saturday with lows falling to near freezing. Clouds clear out during the day with highs in the mid-40s on Saturday with more sunshine. It's a cool start on Sunday, but upper level high pressure builds by Sunday into next week, meaning our spring-like weather will return with temperatures reaching the 60s to around 70 almost each day. Rain chances look a little higher toward the end of the week, but I am not seeing anything wintry on the horizon at this point.
