Tracking more sunshine and gradually warming temperatures the next few days
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and chilly with lows in the lower 40s.
TOMORROW: Clearing skies with more afternoon sunshine. Highs in the lower 60s with light winds.
EXTENDED: We finally begin clearing out tomorrow as high pressure settles across the Great Lakes and pushes out cloud cover. This will allow more sunshine to heat us up into the low to mid-60s through Thursday. Thursday morning will likely be our coldest day of the week, with lows falling into the upper 30s to low 40s. I have trimmed temperatures back a bit for Friday and the weekend, but I still expect upper 60s on Friday with a chance for a few showers ahead of a warm front that will lift into the region. Showers are likely through Saturday, with a better chance for scattered thunderstorms on Sunday. Right now, chances for severe weather look pretty limited with not as much instability to work with. We warm into the mid-upper 70s into Monday, with rain amounts between Friday-Monday increasing since previous forecasts with this system moving a little slower. We could end up with 1-2" + of rain between those three days, with the front settling to our south on Tuesday. High pressure builds in toward the end of next week, leading me to believe we'll have drier weather next weekend.
