Tracking storms to close Sunday

TONIGHT: Scattered storms and showers will likely stick around until late tonight. Overnight lows will fall into the lower 40s.

TOMORROW: Many of us will wake up to sunshine and partly cloudy skies to start off the work week. Monday will be dry and the warmest day of the next week. Enjoy the afternoon with highs near 60s degrees, but weigh down any trashcans as winds will be picking up. While you're at it, bring in any sensitive plants as a strong cold front is expected to move through overnight tomorrow.

EXTENDED: Mother Nature is giving us a throwback to winter this week beginning on Tuesday. As a strong cold front pushes through mid-Missouri early Tuesday morning, we're tracking the potential for snow that could impact the morning commute on Tuesday. The good news is that the ground is largely warm enough to fend off accumulations, but we could still see some slushy roadways and covered elevated surfaces. This snow is expected to stick around until the afternoon on Tuesday, and that colder air will keep high temperatures near 40 degrees. The rest of the week will give us on and off chances for precipitation with temperatures holding in the lower 50s. You'll want to keep your sensitive plants inside until Thursday morning at the earliest with low temperatures in the 30s. We'll finally look to warm up by next weekend back into the 60s.
