Tracking rain chances returning for the weekend

FRIDAY: We’re dry to start out, but rain is on the way. A few short-lived showers will be possible this morning around the lake, but our better push of moisture is waiting for the early afternoon. A shield of rain will push in from the west around 1-2 PM, catching the HWY 63 corridor around 3-4 PM. Once the rain pushes in, it’s with us for the remainder of the day. Highs will still top out in the mid to upper 50’s.

TONIGHT: Showers will be off and on throughout the night. Lows will fall into the low to mid 40’s.

EXTENDED: Saturday those showers will break up in coverage, but will remain possible throughout the day. Highs look stuck in the middle 50’s once again tomorrow. More of the same into Sunday, with the slim threat of rain lingering, keeping the clouds and 50’s around to close out the weekend. We get a visit from the sunshine Monday, bumping temperatures into the 60’s. Don’t get used to it, though, with another cold front moving through Monday night. That will bring another chance for some rain overnight and a reinforcing shot of some cool air. Highs on Tuesday might struggle to get back to 50. With that cool of an afternoon, if we clear out the skies overnight we could be faced with another frost threat Tuesday night. Wednesday’s looking dry, but another disturbance keep the active weather around toward the end of next week.
