Tracking rain this morning, with storms this afternoon
TUESDAY: Rain has moved back in for the morning commute, so plan on a few extra minutes out the door. This shield will slide northeast of us by 9-10 AM but our attention will turn to storms firing on the heels of that. This second round of showers and storms will largely be for folks along and north of I-70, and could become strong to severe. The timeframe for Mid-Missouri would be between 1-7 PM. For the latest details updated throughout the morning, head over to the Insider Blog. Highs today will top out in the low 60’s with a breezy southeast wind, gusting up to 35 mph.
TONIGHT: Storms will exit pretty early this evening, and we’ll be left with mostly cloudy skies overnight. Lows fall back into the middle 40’s.
EXTENDED: We’ll take a break from the rain on Wednesday, but not for long. Our next system moves in Wednesday night, after we get highs into the upper 50’s during the day. While a few rumbles of thunder will be possible, anything strong or severe is expected to stay southeast of the area. Rain’s here to stay through Thursday and into Friday morning. We’ll take another brief break from the rain during the day, with another system sliding through Friday night into Saturday morning. That looks to be in and out before sunrise on Saturday, so weekend plans look okay still. Temperatures will shuffle around in the upper 50’s and low 60’s this week, with a shot to get into the upper 60’s Saturday.
