Tracking more storms ahead of the Fourth

THIS AFTERNOON: Storms are possible again this afternoon toward I-44 and the Lake with the threat of strong winds. Flooding will be a concern from any storms after parts of Mid-MO picked up several inches early Wednesday.

TONIGHT: Rain coverage increases tonight keeping the risk of flooding into the early morning. Heavy downpours and lightning will be a concern through sunrise.

EXTENDED: Dry time returns through midday tomorrow but an isolated shower or storm remains possible. A cold front will arrive from the west in the evening triggering widespread storms through the early overnight. We could see strong to severe storms in the afternoon and overnight on the Fourth. Drier skies return into the weekend with highs in the 80s.
