Tracking hot temperatures with storm chances tonight

TODAY: Highs reach near 90 with feels like temperatures a few degrees warmer. Rain from the morning fizzles out ahead of more storms possible tonight.

TONIGHT: Storms will return after sunset, after 10 p.m. near Macon and Chariton counties in the northwest. Columbia and Jefferson City see these storms between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. before these storms reach I-44 around 5 a.m. Some isolated pockets of hail and gusts of damaging winds will be possible.

EXTENDED: Saturday morning will be wet but this activity dries up by noon. Highs in the low 90s feel like near 100 as we see more humidity Saturday. Another chance for thunderstorms redevelops south of I-70 by Saturday evening. A threat of hail and gusty winds will be possible here again. We'll be drier and cooler on Sunday, with highs in the 80s and lower humidity. Temperatures warm up into the 90s Tuesday through Thursday and rain chances are possible around the fourth.
