Tracking rain and thunder to wrap up the week

THIS AFTERNOON: Temperatures reach the upper 70s today after a mostly dry start. Showers and thunderstorms steadily track in from the south becoming most widespread after sundown.

TONIGHT: Scattered storms persist through early Saturday. Temperatures are held in the low 60s.

EXTENDED: Showers will generally come to an end by midmorning tomorrow, with clouds clearing shortly after. We'll stay dry through most of Sunday, but isolated to widely scattered storms likely return Sunday afternoon and evening. Early next week will be warm and muggy, with southerly flow contributing to highs in the mid-80s and high dewpoints. Rain chances return daily Monday through Wednesday morning.
