Tracking chances for rain behind near-record warmth

TONIGHT: Clouds have returned today, and despite that, temperatures have climbed to near 60 degrees. These clouds and a generous south breeze will help keep mild conditions around. Expect lows tonight in the mid to upper 40's.

FRIDAY: Christmas Eve starts warm with continued wind out of the south and lingering cloud cover. In fact, the chance is there that a few could see a sprinkle early, but thanks to a deep dry layer aloft we can count on a mostly dry day. Temperatures will soar into the upper 60's and give records a run for their money.

EXTENDED: Some light showers may develop late Friday into early Saturday, but will have next to no impact. The best chance for some wet weather on Christmas morning will come north of I-70. Temperatures are cooler on Christmas, but well warmer than average. Expect highs near 60 both Saturday and Sunday. Another chance for some showers will move through Sunday night, which may help shave a few degrees off highs into next week. We’re tracking another system bringing rain chances Monday night into Tuesday as highs reach the upper 50’s. We’ll fall into the 40’s by Wednesday behind this one.
