Tracking patchy morning frost, sunshine Thursday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with lows in the upper 30s to around 40. Patchy frost possible south.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warmer with highs in the upper 60s. Winds picking up to 20 mph from the southeast.

EXTENDED: A few showers are possibly early on Friday with a weak disturbance, but the majority of the rainfall comes over the weekend with a warm front lifting north of our area Friday night into Saturday. This will increase temperatures to near 70 on Saturday, and bring scattered showers during the day. Instability and wind shear are limited over the weekend, meaning our severe weather chances will be low, but we'll definitely hear a few rumbles between Saturday night and Sunday. Rain could be heavy at times, and looks to continue into Monday. A cut off low pressure system is forecast to sit just to our west into next week, sending continual rounds of rain our way. Despite all this, temperatures remain in the 70s for much of next week. Rain amounts will be in the 1-2.5" range between now and early next week, with isolated higher amounts where we see a few thunderstorms.
