Tracking showers through Saturday morning, heavier rain Sunday
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with continued showers through Saturday morning. Lows in the low 40s.
TOMORROW: Scattered showers early followed by mostly cloudy skies. Highs in the lower 50s and breezy.
EXTENDED: Another round of showers moves in early Sunday morning for the northern section of the area, with more widespread rain and a few thunderstorms expected by mid-afternoon. Severe weather is not expected with these two rounds. The heaviest rain moves out before sunrise on Monday, but there could be some light lingering showers through late Monday afternoon. Additional rainfall will end up between 1-2" for much of the area through Sunday night. A Flood Watch is in effect through Saturday night for areas along and south of I-70, but could get extended into Sunday per the NWS. Next week stays cool with dry weather on Tuesday, and highs remain in the 50s for much of the week. We could see another system slide through between Wednesday and Thursday that could bring rain at the onset, and potentially a rain/snow mix for the northern part of the area early Thursday morning with temperatures in the low 30s. The precipitation type will largely depend on timing, and expect little impact even if we do get some mixing given the highs in the upper 40s Thursday afternoon.
