Tracking warmer temperatures Tuesday, rounds of rain late week

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds with a diminishing breeze. Lows in the mid-upper 40s.

TOMORROW: Partly sunny and breezy with south wind gusts between 20-25 mph. Highs in the low to mid-70s. A few evening showers possible after sunset.

EXTENDED: The week becomes more interesting by Wednesday as a cold front approaches eastern Kansas and northwest Missouri. A few showers will be possible ahead of this system on Wednesday afternoon, with isolated thunderstorms developing across northwest Missouri into the evening. A few of these storms may be on the stronger side, but most of Mid-Missouri should stay free of severe storms with a lack of instability in place across the region. The most likely area to see a rogue storm would be west of Highway 65. This front will slowly sag south and become stationary through the end of the week, sending rounds of rain and a few thunderstorms into the area. The boundary wavers over Mid-Missouri through the weekend, with another area of low pressure across the Ark-La-Tex region pushing east Sunday into Monday, keeping steady rain and storm chances through Sunday night. Thankfully rain won't all come at once, however, much of Mid-Missouri will receive anywhere from 2-4" of rain between Wednesday and Sunday. Severe weather chances look fairly low through at least Sunday with a lack of instability despite the ample moisture and wind shear. Temperatures will remain in the 60s through Thursday, with highs in the low to mid-50s from Friday through the weekend.
