Tracking a hot weekend ahead with scattered storms possible

TODAY: Highs increase into the lower 90s Friday afternoon with mostly sunny skies. Winds remain out of the southwest at 5-10 mph and gusts up to 16 mph.

TONIGHT: Overnight lows cool to the lower 70s with mostly clear skies.

EXTENDED: Saturday sees increasing temperatures with highs into the mid-90s. Skies remain mostly sunny until the evening hours where scattered showers and storms push through the region lasting through early Sunday morning. A few isolated stronger to possibly severe storms remain possible. The heat index reaches near 100 degrees Saturday and only looks to increase through Tuesday topping out near 105 degrees. Conditions remain dry until Tuesday afternoon where chances of showers and storms increase into Wednesday morning.
