Tracking isolated afternoon storms chances with a drier Wednesday

TODAY: Tuesday will be mostly dry and partly cloudy, however a chance for a shower and a rumble of thunder or two will be possible from 1 p.m. through 6 p.m. near the lake of the Ozarks, and near Mexico. So there will be two separate chances, one in the far south west, and another in the far northeast. It's likely that Columbia and Jefferson City will be dry through the day.

TONIGHT: Storms will die by sunset, and we'll be mostly clear overnight. Temperatures fall into the 50s through early Wednesday morning.

EXTENDED: Wednesday is mostly sunny with a high in the upper 70s. Thursday will likely be dry, but a chance for showers and thunderstorms will be drifting in from the west by the evening. Highs Thursday land near 80. Then, that rain chance will be more widespread by Friday with a high in the 70s. . Severe weather is not anticipated, but some thunder may be possible. Shower may linger early Saturday, but some dry time is expected ahead of another chance for storms Saturday evening. Timing is still highly uncertain on Saturday, but a slightly better chance for rain looks to return Sunday, with chances lingering into Monday. No severe weather is forecast, but temperatures will make a return to the 80s Saturday through Monday.
