Tracking scattered strong storms tomorrow, weekend chances possible
TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy and not as cool with lows in the mid-upper 60s.
TOMORROW: Rounds of storms possible, starting by mid-morning. Some storms may be severe with wind gusts up to 60 mph and 1" hail. Highs reach the lower 80s.
EXTENDED: Temperatures will remain more mild tonight as we drop into the mid-60s ahead of storms that could move in by mid-morning. Storms could be strong with gusts up to 50 mph and heavy rain through about midday. If this round happens to stay to our north or moves out rapidly, we could see scattered storms redevelop in the afternoon ahead of a cold front, and these will pose a severe threat through early evening before exiting south of I-44 by sunset. Saturday is expected to be slightly cooler as high pressure moves in, keeping skies clear throughout the day. However, strong storms are possible as a warm front lifts through the region late Saturday night, with wind and heavy rain possible overnight into Sunday morning. Sunday's forecast will depend on the location and overage of morning storms, and position of the cold front. If the front is well to our east, we likely won't see much severe weather. If it hangs out following morning storms, we could see a severe threat, especially for eastern portions of Mid-Missouri. Monday looks to be drier behind those storms, with temperatures in the upper 70s for Memorial Day. Rain amounts through Monday will be in the 1-2" range.
