Tracking partly cloudy pm with returning storm chances
TODAY: Wednesday will be partly cloudy, and dry with only a weak shower or storm moving in from the west this afternoon. Temperatures climb into the 70s. Winds will be light from the north this morning, before becoming variable by the afternoon.
TONIGHT: Storm chances increase tonight, mostly after midnight. Temperatures fall to near 60, with a variable breeze.
EXTENDED: Thursday morning showers and storms will focus in the southeast, from Rolla to Columbia. Some in the north will see rain, but it will be of spotty nature. Thursday afternoon, if we can destabilize, there would be potential for an isolated strong storm. It's still looking less than likely as it's unclear that we'll be able to recover after morning rainfall. Friday will bring continued rain chances. The jury's still out on exactly how Friday unfolds, but generally our Thursday system stalls, keeping rain around at least into Friday morning. Drier weather will gradually build into Saturday. If the system really lags, we could be talking about Saturday morning showers, but generally Saturday is looking mostly dry. Sunday as well is looking dry, but a series of short waves will arrive by Sunday night, increasing rain chances potentially by late day. Then another rain chance arrives via the next wave Monday, and a more developed low looks poised to arrive into Tuesday. These currently keep us in daily rain chances early next week. The week ahead is largely in the 70s, with highs climbing into the mid-80s Saturday through early next week.
