Showers and storms this afternoon

TUESDAY: Scattered showers will again cause a slow commute this morning. Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon, with a low threat of producing some gusty winds or even some small hail. Highs will top out in the upper 70's.

TONIGHT: The coverage will thin out, but the chance of a few showers will stay in the forecast. Lows will drop into the middle 60's. Some areas of patchy fog will be possible as well.

EXTENDED: More showers look to be on the way Wednesday as we can't seem to shake this wet pattern. The ingredients don't look to come together to worry about severe weather, but a few rumbles will be possible. An area of high pressure will try to set up to our east. Whether or not it will be strong enough to keep the rain west of the viewing area is a close call on Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will have a chance to push into the low 80's if we can hold off the rain to end the week. The threat of showers will linger into the weekend, given the upper-level setup, but there still remains hope, with that high-pressure center holding all of the cards.
