Tracking windy and warm start to the week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild with lows in the low 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and breezy with south wind gusts up to 30-35 mph. Highs in the low 80s.

EXTENDED: A warm front settling to our north to start the week will keep temperatures in the lower 80s through Tuesday and increase winds from the south. Strong winds between 25-35 mph will send pollen levels sky high with tree pollens still being the primary allergen. The upper level pattern is significantly amplified this week, with a strong low pressure system tracking across the Plains on Tuesday, sending a slow moving cold front in our direction late Tuesday night through early Thursday. This boundary traverses across Missouri and brings waves of rain and embedded thunderstorms, potentially posing a flooding risk with 2-3" of rain through early Thursday. The severe weather potential will be low, and temperatures will take a hit and fall to the upper 60s to around 70 by Thursday and Friday. A more quiet pattern settles in just in time for the weekend as I'm expecting highs in the low to mid-70s with sunshine.
