Four juveniles hurt following ATV crash in Lohman Sunday morning

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Four juveniles were hurt following an ATV crash in Cole County early Sunday morning.

Cole County Emergency Medical Services received a report of an ATV accident in the 1500 block of Terrace Dr. in Lohman just after 3 a.m. Sunday.

Initial 911 calls reported five people with serious injuries, which led to Cole County EMS Communications Center dispatching five ambulances, two chief officers and medical helicopter from Mercy Life Line to the scene.

In a press release, Cole County EMS said a total a four juvenile patients were transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.

Three additional juveniles were evaluated on scene and released to their legal guardians.

Cole County EMS says, the conditions of the juveniles transported to University Hospital is unknown at this time.

Deputies from the Cole County Sheriff's Department were the first to arrive on scene and found multiple people needing medical care.

Upon arrival, Deputies learned the accident was in a remote location, several miles from a paved road and ambulances would not be able to reach the scene.

Then, the EMS Incident Commander requested mutual-aid for all-terrain transport vehicles from the Cole County Emergency Response Team, the Jefferson City Fire Department and Osage Ambulance District.
