Mizzou drops SEC showdown with Tennessee, ends three-game win streak

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou volleyball team was searching for back-to-back upsets of ranked SEC opponents on Wednesday night at the Hearnes Center, but the Tigers fell to 12th ranked Tennessee 3-1. Mizzou now holds a 5-5 record in conference play.

Dawn Sullivan's crew lost a close first set 25-23 but battled back to win the second set 25-16. However, Tennessee cruised from there, winning the final two sets to win the match.

Mizzou's Jordan Iliff and Janet deMarrais recorded 26 combined kills while Tennessee's Morgahn Fingall had a game-high 17 kills.

Up next - Mizzou will hit the road for a match with Ole Miss in Oxford. That match is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 29 at 1:30 p.m.
