Mizzou lands former Georgia linebacker in transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Darris Smith, the seventh ranked linebacker in the transfer portal according to On3, announced on social media that he's transferring from Georgia to Mizzou. Smith is also a former four-star high school recruit, according to 247 Sports.

The sophomore linebacker appeared in five games for Georgia this season, recording three tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass breakup.

Smith is now the fourth football player to transfer to the Tigers. He joins offensive lineman Cayden Green, running back Marcus Carroll and defensive back Toriano Pride as Mizzou's current 2024 transfers.

Mizzou currently has the No. 28 ranked transfer class in the nation, according to 247 Sports.
