Seven Mizzou gymnasts earn All-SEC honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Gymnastics received plenty of postseason recognition from the SEC on Wednesday morning. Seven Tigers secured All-SEC honors, the most of any SEC program, and Jocelyn Moore was named the league's Event Specialist of the Year.

This is the first time in Moore's career that she has been named SEC Event Specialist of the Year. Moore is also just the third gymnast in program history to earn that honor, joining Helen Hu and Sienna Schreiber who captured that award in 2020 and 2022 respectively.

Moore, Schreiber, Mara Titarsolej, Sydney Schaffer, Amari Celestine, Kennedy Griffin and Hannah Horton all made the cut for this year's All-SEC team. Mizzou has now had at least five gymnasts earn All-SEC honors for three straight seasons.

Griffin and Horton also made the All-SEC Freshman team, making Mizzou one of just two program's this season to have multiple gymnasts earn that honor.

Mizzou is preparing to compete in the second round of the Gainesville Regional of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, April 5 at 6 p.m. against Florida, Georgia and the winner of a play-in meet between Iowa State and Clemson.
