Mizzou earns 197.375 on senior day, bars lineup makes program history

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No. 13 Mizzou Gymnastics finished Sunday afternoon's quad meet in second place after posting its fourth-best team score of the season in the team's final meet at the Hearnes Center this season. The Tigers' 197.375 score was only eclipsed by No. 11 Denver, who won the meet with a 197.625 overall tally.

Mizzou's bar lineup broke the record for the program's highest team score in that event. All six gymnasts scored a 9.875 or better on that apparatus, including three scores that surpassed the 9.900-mark, leading to a program-best 49.600 score. Sienna Schreiber and Mara Titarsolej finished in a four-way tie for the bars title after they both performed 9.950 routines.

The Tigers also nearly made program history on floor. Shannon Welker's crew earned a 49.625 in that event, which was the second-best overall score on that apparatus in Mizzou history. Schreiber and true freshman Kennedy Griffin shared the floor title after scoring 9.950 on their routines. Mizzou posted four individual scores of 9.925 or better in that event.

The balance beam and vault lineups each finished with a 49.075 team score. Jocelyn Moore's 9.875 on vault led the Tigers in that event. Schreiber had the team's best score on beam with a 9.925 and two other Tiger gymnasts reached the 9.900-mark with their balance beam routines.

Up next - Mizzou will close out the regular season with a quad meet at No. 24 Illinois. The Tigers will compete against the Fighting Illini, No. 19 Arizona and SEMO on Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m.
